Location
Laguna Hills is located off Interstate 5 between Lake Forest and Oso Parkway on the western side of the freeway just south of where the 405 and 5 merge when heading south. The community is surrounded by Irvine to the north, Aliso Viejo to the west and Mission Viejo to the east and south. Laguna Hills is just a few minutes away from Irvine and approximately 15 minutes from Orange County Airport.
Overview
Laguna Hills is one of the older communities in south Orange County and is built on one of the major land grants during the rancho period in the county. The city has a population of approximately 32,000 people and over 10,000 households. Within the community is Laguna Hills mall which is being redeveloped and Laguna Hills Hospital. The community is also well known for Laguna Woods, a large enclave of senior 55 plus homes in a gated community.

Laguna Hills real estate offers a diverse range of properties from older condos as a good entry point into the market, single family homes in a variety of one- and two-story floor plans, senior 55 plus homes in the guard gated Laguna Woods neighborhood, to custom and equestrian zoned homes in the Nellie Gail
Laguna Hills is divided into six different neighborhoods and over 50 builder tracts or subdivisions. The six neighborhoods of Laguna Hills include Laguna Hills North, South and Central, Laguna Woods, Moulton Ranch and Nellie Gail. Laguna Woods is the senior 55 plus guard gated community off El Toro Road. Moulton Ranch is one of the newer areas of the community and Nellie Gail is the most expensive and luxurious with custom homes and equestrian zoned properties. The other areas of Laguna Hills real estate offers older condos and townhomes, many single story floor plans with larger lots relative to the newer developments in south Orange County.

Laguna Hills offers a variety of amenities from shopping centers, parks, schools, hospital and medical facilities and a golf course in the Laguna Woods neighborhood.
The community is just a short distance to the beaches in the nearby coastal community of Laguna Hills and surrounding communities offer a variety of other outdoor and indoor activities. The large business hub of Irvine is conveniently located 10-15 minutes away.
Students living in Laguna Hills attend one of Saddleback Valley Unified School District’s schools. Elementary schools include San Joaquin Elementary, Lomarena Elementary, or Valencia Elementary. Middle schools are La Paz and Los Alisos in nearby Mission Viejo and high school students attend Laguna Hills High School. There are also various private schools within and in nearby communities.
