Overview

Esencia, Spanish for Essence is the second neighborhood developed as part of Rancho Mission Viejo’s master-planned community and began selling in 2015.  Located off Antonio Parkway and Cow Camp Road or Los Patrones Road and Chaquita Canyon, Esencia has 2,894 homes spread across 29 different neighborhoods or subdivisions ranching from 1-4 bedroom condos or townhomes up to 5 bedroom homes with up to 3,500 square feet with many sitting on the hillsides with spectactular views of the surrounding open landscape of the Ranch.  Spread throughout the community are trails, parks, clubhouses, pools, and fitness along with Esencia K-8 Elementary and Middle School.

Escencia is divided into four different pocket neighborhoods – Canyon House, Hilltop, Northwalk, and Gavilan 55 Plus.  Canyon House homes surround the Canyon Clubhouse. Hilltop sits at the highest point in Escencia with breathtaking views, Northwalk into the canyon and Gavilan 55 Plus is dotted throughout each of these areas.

Esencia truely promotes indoor-outdoor living with the trails, pools, clubhouses, parks, dogpark, Escencia Farm, and the K-8 Elemetary school.

The various clubhouses offer great places to relax or entertain.  The Hilltop offers breathaking views and includes a pool, spa, fitness center, barbeque area, bar, outdoor fire pits, arcade, and more.  The Canyon House has Canyon House Coffee where you can get your morning or afternoon pick-me-up, large entertainment areas both indoor and out (allows weddings to be hosted here) and also includes Esencia Farm, where you can grow locally and enjoy tonight.

Numerous parks throughout Esencia give the community a true neighborhood feel.  Esencia Sports Park has three baseball fields, soccer field, playground, snack bar and is a state-of-the-art facility for youth sports.  Esencia Green has a playground, large grass area, and stage for concerts or other outdoor entertainment.  Other popular parks include Zipline Park, the Backyard, Sunset and Sunrise Park, Pavilon Park and Oak Canyon Park.

Other great areas include the Campout, where you can rent space to camp for the night, barbeque, and sit around a fire, and the other clubhouses (The Hangout, the Getaway, and the Garage).

The North Plunge includes a pool, fire bits, tennis courts, cabanas, and great views sitting atop the hillside.
